Public attitudes to climate change and the environment probed by Lords inquiry
Tuesday 1 February
Public attitudes towards climate change and the environment will be explored when the House of Lords Environment and Climate Change Committee continues its inquiry into mobilising action tomorrow (Wednesday 2 February at 10am).
The committee will hear from:
- Dr Emily Gray, Managing Director, Ipsos MORI Scotland
- Professor Wouter Poortinga, Associate Director, Centre for Climate Change and Social Transformations, Cardiff University
Likely questions include:
- How has public awareness, understanding and concern around climate change and environmental issues changed in recent years?
- How aware of and supportive is the public of the behaviour and lifestyle changes that may be required to meet the government’s long-term climate and environment goals?
- What variation is there across the population in views towards climate and the environment, behaviour change, and possible policy measures?
The session will be live on Parliament TV.
