BBC Director-General faces Lords committee on impartiality and editorial standards

Monday 10 January 2022

How can public confidence in BBC impartiality be enhanced?

That is one of the likely questions when BBC bosses appear before the House of Lords Communications and Digital Committee tomorrow (Tuesday 11 January at 4.00 p.m.).

The committee will hear from:

  • Tim Davie, BBC Director-General
  • Sir Nicholas Serota, Senior Independent Director, BBC
  • David Jordan, Director, Editorial Policy and Standards, BBC

Other possible questions include:

  • What are the biggest challenges for enhancing impartiality across the BBC?
  • Does the BBC’s programme of cuts and restructuring pose risks to impartiality?
  • How will the BBC’s progress against objectives set out in the Serota review and the BBC’s action plan be measured?

The session will be live on Parliament TV.
