Digital competition experts give evidence to Lords committee
Monday 31 January 2022
What progress in improving digital competition has been made by the government and the Digital Markets Unit?
That is one of the likely questions when academics appear before the House of Lords Communications and Digital Committee tomorrow (Tuesday 1 February at 2.30 p.m.).
The committee will hear from:
- Dr Liza Lovdahl Gormsen, Director of the Competition Law Forum and Senior Research Fellow in Competition Law, British Institute of International and Comparative Law
- Professor Damien Geradin, Professor of Competition Law and Economics, Tilburg University and Visiting Professor, University of East Anglia
Other possible questions include:
- How can the Digital Markets Unit enforce the new ‘pro-competition’ regime effectively?
- With the broad powers that may be given to it, is the Digital Markets Unit subject to appropriate oversight?
The session will be live on Parliament TV.
