Lords to examine mental health support for children and young people

On Monday 18 July the House of Lords Select Committee on the Children and Families Act 2014 will continue its inquiry examining whether the Children and Families Act 2014 is fit for purpose.

The Committee will explore the difficulties faced by children and young people in obtaining mental health support through the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).

The public evidence sessions will take place at 3.15pm (BST) on Monday 18 July 2022 and can be viewed live on Parliament TV.

The committee will hear from:

  • Kadra Abdinasir, Associate Director at Centre for Mental Health & Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition
  • Dr Elaine Lockhart, Chair at the Royal College of Psychiatrist’s Child and Adolescent Faculty

  3. Prevention and early intervention for young people’s mental health
