How can the public sector become a more attractive employer

This question and other issues will be considered by the House of Lords Public Services Committee in an evidence session tomorrow as it continues its inquiry into Designing a public services workforce fit for the future.
The session will take place on Wednesday 9 March and can be watched live or on demand at Parliament TV or in person in Committee Room 2, Palace of Westminster.
Giving evidence will be;

- What training routes would support the public services workforce to deliver better services in the future?
- What steps would ensure that public services training is made more accessible for people with different backgrounds and abilities?
- What are the greatest challenges when recruiting for positions in the public services workforce, and how should the Government address them?
- What can public services learn from the private sector about recruitment and retention?
- What steps can be taken to boost the recruitment and retention of social care staff? What steps would offer better career progression for staff in this sector?
