Lords to examine impact of family justice system reforms on children and families

On Monday 23 May the House of Lords Select Committee on the Children and Families Act 2014 will continue its inquiry examining whether the Children and Families Act 2014 is fit for purpose.

The Committee will hear from two expert panels on the changes made to private family law by the 2014 Act, with a particular focus on the presumption of parental involvement and family separation, and the witnesses’ reflections on family justice aspects of the Act.

The first public evidence session will take place at 3.15pm (BST) on Monday 23 May 2022 and can be viewed live on Parliament TV

The committee will hear from:

  • Professor Rosemary Hunter, Professor of Law and Socio-Legal Studies, University of Kent
  • Bob Greig, Director and founder of Only Dads

4:05pm

  • Mavis Maclean CBE, Research Associate, University of Oxford, Department of Social Policy and Innovation
  • Sir James Munby, former President of the Family Division of the High Court of England and Wales
