Lords Environment and Climate Change Committee to hear from Thérèse Coffey MP, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs

The House of Lords Environment and Climate Change Committee will hear from Thérèse Coffey MP, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on Wednesday 30 November.

This will be Ms Coffey’s first evidence session with a parliamentary select committee in her role as Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

The one-off session will take place from 10am. It can be followed live or afterwards on Parliament TV or in person in the Palace of Westminster (committee room 4).

The Secretary of State will be joined by Tamara Finkelstein, Permanent Secretary, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

Questions from the committee will cover the following areas:

  • Defra’s priorities;
  • The Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Bill;
  • Delivery of environment policy across government and beyond;
  • the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) COP15 (Part 2);
  • Defra’s progress on climate change domestically and internationally.
