Short-term lettings inquiry: regulation of short-term lets in Wales

On Tuesday 22 November 2022, the House of Lords Built Environment Committee will hear evidence on the measures introduced by the Welsh Government to address the impact of second homes and short-term lets.

This session is part of the Committee’s short inquiry on this topic.

At 10.30am the Committee will hear from:

  • Huw Maguire, Head of Second Homes Policy, Welsh Government.

This evidence session, which is open to the public, will be held in Committee Room 2 of the House of Lords and streamed on Parliament TV.

Topics likely to be covered in this session include:

  • The scale of the short-term letting sector in Wales.
  • New rules/regulations introduced by the Welsh Government.
  • How the sector has responded to the new regulations.
  • Whether England could benefit from adopting some of the new Welsh regulations, such as the council rate premium increase or statutory licensing scheme.
