Lords to hear from consumers on the Government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme
Tuesday 25 October 2022
From 10am on Wednesday 26 October the House of Lords Environment and Climate Change Committee will hold the first evidence session of its new inquiry into the Government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme.
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme was one of the key commitments in the Heat and Buildings Strategy, with the Government pledging to grow the market for heat pumps through incentivising early adopters through grants. The government has a target to install 600,000 heat pumps annually by 2028.
The Committee will hear from three consumers about their experiences of using the scheme to install a low- carbon heat system.
10am to 11.15am
- Anthony Hibbs
- John Taylor
- Dr Robert (Bob) Whitmarsh
The session can be followed live on Parliament TV or in person in Committee Room 4a, Palace of Westminster.
The proposed questions for this session cover the following areas:
- Motivations for involvement
- Experience of the scheme:
- Prior to installation
- during installation
- during use of the low-carbon heat system so far
- Recommendations for possible improvements.
