How does digital exclusion affect different demographics? How can older people and people with disabilities be supported to thrive online?

The House of Lords Communications and Digital Committee will tomorrow take evidence from experts and campaigners as it explores how different groups are affected by digital exclusion and how solutions can be tailored to meet diverse needs.
The Committee are looking at the impact of digital exclusion on individuals and more broadly how digital exclusion is damaging the economy and restricting growth.
From 2:30pm on Tuesday 28 February in Committee Room 4 of the House of Lords the Committee will take evidence from:
- Sally West, Policy Manager, Age UK
- Dr Robin Christopherson MBE, Head of Digital Inclusion, AbilityNet
- Dr Jake Anders, Associate Professor in Educational and Social Statistics, and Deputy Director, Centre for Education Policy and Equalising Opportunities, University College London
- Patricia Bailey, member, ATD Fourth World UK
Issues the session will cover include identifying the most significant factors leading to digital exclusion and how these affect different demographics, the benefits for individuals of greater digital exclusion and the appropriate balance of responsibility between government, the voluntary sector and business in tackling digital exclusion.
