Supreme Court President and Deputy President to give evidence

The House of Lords Constitution Committee will tomorrow be holding its annual evidence session with the President and Deputy President of the Supreme court.
Giving evidence will be:
- The Rt Hon the Lord Reed of Allermuir, President of the Supreme Court
- The Rt Hon Lord Hodge, Deputy President of the Supreme Court
Questions that may arise include:
- What international activities has the Court undertaken to further its reputation as an international centre of legal excellence and a global champion of the rule of law?
- What efforts have been made in the last year to make progress on the Court’s Judicial Diversity and Inclusion Strategy?
- How have relations between the Court and the Government been over the past year?
- Are the mechanisms in place at the Supreme Court adequate to encourage judges who have experienced bullying, harassment or discrimination to report their experience?
- What changes and improvements to the Supreme Court have been identified by the Change Programme and what do you hope to achieve through this Programme over the next year?
- What consideration have you given to the role that artificial intelligence might play in the Supreme Court in the future?
The session will take place on Tuesday 4 July at 10.15am and can be followed on Parliament TV.
