Former Health Minister to face questions on decline of clinical trials and health research in UK

At 10.15 am on Tuesday 13 June, the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee will hold a one-off evidence session with former Health Minister Lord O'Shaughnessy following his review into the landscape for commercial clinical trials in the UK
The session will focus on the outcomes of his review and question him on the Government’s commitment to “double the numbers of people taking part in commercial clinical trials by 2025, and double it again by 2027.”
The committee will also discuss the factors behind the recent decline in health research in the NHS which has been highlighted by the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry and other bodies.
The public evidence session will take place at 10:15 am and can be viewed live on Parliament TV or in person in Committee Room 4A Palace of Westminster
