Lords Committee to hear how NHS England can facilitate integration within the Health Service

The first session will explore what NHS England leadership are doing to better facilitate integration within the wider health service, in particular in light of the Fuller and Hewitt reviews. The second session will examine how social care can be better integrated with primary and community care and how local government can be most effective in coordinating health care delivery in local areas.        

The first evidence session will start at 3.05pm and can be watched live or on demand at Parliament TV or in person in Committee Room 4, Palace of Westminster.

The witnesses giving evidence to the committee will be:

• Dawn Wakeling, Co-Priority Lead for Sustainable Personalised Health & Care Systems, Association of Directors of Adult Social Services and Executive Director – Communities, Adults and Health, London Borough of Barnet.

Questions may include:

• How is responsibility for integration policy shared between NHS England and Dept of Health and Social Care (DHSC)?
  
  
• What is NHSE doing to address staff shortages which are seen as a key limiting factor to integrated working in primary care, community health services and social care?
  
  
• What is NHSE doing to address a lack of digital interoperability within primary and community care?
  
  
• To what extent are new integrated care systems and primary care networks facilitating the effective involvement and contributions of local government, VCSE and social care services?
  
  
• How can local government play a greater role within local health services? What needs to change for co-ordination and integration to made easier?
