Lords Communications and Digital Committee to publish report on digital exclusion

The House of Lords Communications and Digital Committee will next week publish its report on digital exclusion and the cost of living.

The report will look at the extent of digital exclusion in the UK and whether the Government is doing enough to tackle it. It will consider how the cost-of-living crisis has affected digital exclusion, the increasing impact of digital exclusion on those affected as more service move online, and whether enough is being done to improve the level of basic digital skills across the country.

The report will also consider the impact of digital exclusion in the UK on the Government’s ambition to make the UK a ‘tech superpower’.

The report will be published on Thursday 29 June. Embargoed copies of the report will be available to the media. All content will be embargoed until 00:01 on 29 June 2023.

The Chair of the Lords Communications and Digital Committee Baroness Stowell will be available for interview ahead of and at publication.
