Senior NHS and Integrated Care officials give evidence to Lords Committee as inquiry into integration of Primary and Community Care continues

On Monday 20 March the House of Lords Integration of Primary and Community Care Committee will take evidence from two panels of witnesses including senior NHS officials and Integrated Care System (ICS) and Integrated Care Board (ICB) leads as it continues its inquiry exploring how best to integrate primary and community care.

The sessions will consider topics including the roles ICSs and ICBs play in facilitating further integration in the health service and how effective levels of healthcare integration are measured.

The first evidence session will start at 3.05pm and can be watched live or on demand at Parliament TV or in person in Committee Room 3, Palace of Westminster.

The following witnesses will be giving evidence:

3.05pm

  • Prof. Sir Chris Ham, Chair, Coventry and Warwickshire Health and Care Partnership, Non-executive Director, Royal Free London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Co-Chair at NHS Assembly; and
  • Fiona Claridge, Assistant Director (London and East), NHS Confederation.

3.55pm

  • Professor Claire Fuller, Chief Executive, Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care System;
  • Dr Harpreet Sood MBBS MPH MRCGP, Clinical Advisor for the COVID-19 Vaccine programme, GP and Board Member, Health Education England; and
  • Adam Doyle, Chief Executive, Sussex Integrated Care Board.

Topics for discussion may include:

  • Improving patient outcomes using healthcare integration policy
  • How health integration in England has been affected by the Health Care Act 2022
  • Overcoming barriers preventing effective integration
  • Lessons learned from use of technology during the COVID-19 pandemic
