Peers take evidence on UK-EU defence and future reconstruction of Ukraine

At 10:30pm tomorrow Wednesday 8 November the House of Lords European Affairs Committee, chaired by Lord Ricketts, will continue to take evidence on the implications of Russia’s invasion on Ukraine for UK-EU relations.
The Committee will hear from:

- Mark Bowman, Vice President for Policy and Partnerships, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
- Natalie Jaresko, former Finance Minister of Ukraine and Managing Director, Turnaround, Restructuring and Strategy, EY-Parthenon.
- Orysia Lutsevych, Deputy Director, Russia and Eurasia Programme, and Head of the Ukraine Forum, Chatham House.
The evidence session will be available to watch live or on demand on Parliament TV or in person in Committee Room 4A, Palace of Westminster.
Questions will focus on the following themes:
- The overall UK and EU defence response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine
- EU defence industrial initiatives
- NATO-EU cooperation
- International cooperation on reconstruction of Ukraine
- Options for financing reconstruction
- Implications for reconstruction of Ukraine’s candidacy for EU membership.
