Lords Electric Vehicles inquiry explores end-of-life disposal and recycling capacity

The House of Lords Environment and Climate Change Committee continues its inquiry into Electric Vehicles (EVs), by hearing from industry experts, as it focuses on the end-of-life of EVs, UK recycling capacity and whether current regulations are fit for purpose.

The evidence session can be followed live on Parliament TV or in person in Committee Room 4, Palace of Westminster on Wednesday 18 October from 10am.

Giving evidence will be:

  • Cory Reynolds, Corporate Affairs and Communications Director, Veolia UK;
  • Robin Brundle, Executive Chairman, Technology Minerals Plc;
  • Dr Gavin Harper, Faraday Institution Research Fellow, University of Birmingham;
  • Ken Byng, Senior Manager, CarTakeBack.

Topics the committee are likely to cover include:

  • phase-out dates;
  • consumer options at vehicle end-of-life;
  • vehicle end-of-life regulations;
  • recycling and the Circular Economy;
  • critical materials.
