Peers to examine EU and UK cooperation on sanctions against Russia and Belarus

At 4:00pm on Tuesday 24 October the House of Lords European Affairs Committee, chaired by Lord Ricketts, will take evidence on issues relating to sanctions imposed by the UK, EU and other partners on Russia and Belarus following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The Committee will hear from:
- Tom Keatinge, Director at Centre for Financial Crime and Security Studies, Royal United Services Institute (RUSI)
- Maya Lester KC at Brick Court Chambers
- Neil Whiley, Director, Sanctions and Export Controls at UK Finance
The evidence session will be available to watch live or on demand on Parliamentlive.tv or in person in Committee Room 3, Palace of Westminster.
Questions will focus on the following themes:
- Overall sanctions cooperation
- The UK’s post-Brexit sanctions regime
- Effectiveness and enforcement of sanctions
- Potential future developments
- Lessons for wider sanctions policy
