Lords to question Minister for Health and Secondary Care on Homecare Medicines Services

Tomorrow – Wednesday 13 September, the House of Lords Public Services Committee will take evidence from Will Quince MP, Minister of State (Minister for Health and Secondary Care), Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) as it concludes evidence taking in its inquiry into Homecare Medicines Services.

The session will focus on issues highlighted in the course of the inquiry and include discussions on future plans for the sector, accountability, and ensuring and enforcing safe and efficient care.

The session will start at 3.00pm and can be watched live or on demand at Parliament TV or in person in Committee Room 3, Palace of Westminster

Questions will include: 

  • What is the vision for the future role of homecare?
  • How far does the Department understand the performance, impact, and cost of homecare medicines services?
  • Who should be held accountable for the performance of homecare medicines services?
  • How will the Government ensure that moves towards new electronic systems will increase efficiency rather than simply increase the number of systems in use?
  • What are the timelines for implementing e-prescription in homecare?
