Lords methane inquiry focuses on emissions from agriculture

The House of Lords Environment and Climate Change Committee will continue its inquiry into methane by focusing on emissions from agriculture on Wednesday 17 April.

The session will take place from 10am. It can be followed live or afterwards on Parliament TV or in person in the Palace of Westminster (committee room 3).

Giving evidence will be:

  • Dr Rebecca Fisher, Royal Holloway University of London
  • Phil Bicknell, CEO, UK Agri-Tech Centre
  • Professor John Gilliland, Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board
  • Professor David Frame, School of Physical and Chemical Sciences, University of Canterbury New Zealand

Questions from the committee will cover the following areas:

  • Methane sources in the agriculture sector;
  • Measuring and accounting methane in the agriculture sector;
  • Novel technologies and approaches for reducing methane emissions;
  • Implementation and Regulation in the agriculture sector.
