President and Deputy President of the Supreme Court to give evidence to Lords Constitution Committee

The House of Lords Constitution Committee will tomorrow be holding its annual evidence session with the President of the Supreme Court, The Rt Hon the Lord Reed of Allermuir, and the Deputy President, The Rt Hon Lord Hodge.

The session will start at 10:15am on Wednesday 1 May 2024 and can be followed live on Parliament TV.

Topics the committee will consider include:

  • How the Supreme Court has evolved over the past 15 years
  • International activities the Court has undertaken over the past year
  • Progress on the objectives in the Court’s Judicial Diversity and Inclusion Strategy
  • Progress on judges from overseas jurisdictions to be appointed to the Privy Council
  • A summary of ongoing work to engage with Parliamentarians
  • Changes in Supreme Court fees
  • Progress on the Supreme Court sitting outside London again.
