Alex Chalk to give evidence to Lords Constitution Committee

The House of Lords Constitution Committee will tomorrow be holding its annual evidence session with the Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice, The Rt Hon Alex Chalk KC MP.

Topics that may arise include:

  • Key priorities during this parliamentary session
  • The role of the Lord Chancellor and his relationship with the rule of law
  • The Post Office (Horizon System) Offences Bill
  • The universal application of human rights
  • Legal aid
  • Court backlogs
  • Upgrades to the courts and tribunals services

The session will take place on Wednesday 20 March at 10:15am and can be followed on Parliament TV.
