House of Lords Conduct Committee publishes reports into the conduct of Lord Geidt and Lord Mann
Wednesday 27 March
The House of Lords Conduct Committee has today published two reports, one on the conduct of Lord Mann and the other on the conduct of Lord Geidt.
In both cases the Committee dismiss appeals by the Members against findings by the independent Commissioners for Standards that they had breached the Code of Conduct.
In Lord Mann’s case he was found to have breached provisions around the registration of interests and use of House of Lords facilities.
In Lord Geidt’s case he was found to have breached the rule on provision of parliamentary services in return for payment or reward.
The Committee found significant mitigating circumstances in the two cases and concluded that both Members should write formal letters of apology to the Chair of the Conduct Committee.
