Lords methane inquiry concludes by hearing from Ministers

The House of Lords Environment and Climate Change Committee will hear from Ministers Robbie Moore MP (Minister for Water and Rural Growth, Defra) and Justin Tomlinson MP (Minister for Energy Security and Net Zero, DESNZ), as it concludes its inquiry into methane.
The session will take place on Wednesday 15 May from 10am. It can be followed live or afterwards on Parliament TV or in person in the Palace of Westminster (committee room 3).
Giving evidence will be:
- Robbie Moore MP, Minister for Water and Rural Growth, Defra;
- Karen Lepper, Deputy Director Food Data Standards and Sustainability, Defra;
- Justin Tomlinson MP, Minister for Energy Security and Net Zero, DESNZ;
- Professor Paul Monks BSc, DPhil, FRMetS, FRSC, DESNZ Chief Scientific Adviser.
Questions from the committee will cover the following areas:
- The Government plan for meeting the UK’s existing commitments;
- UK progress on reducing methane emissions on the international stage;
- Regulation of methane emissions in the UK;
- Reductions in the agricultural, waste, and oil and gas sectors;
- Measurement accuracy of methane emissions and emissions trading.
