Is the UK set-up to support future AI giants? Lords Committee to quiz businesses on challenges of scaling-up

The House of Lords Communications and Digital Committee will tomorrow take evidence about how the UK can help AI firms scale and maintain international competitiveness.
The Committee will take evidence across two sessions from 2:30pm on Tuesday 19 November in Committee Room 3 of the House of Lords.
Giving evidence to the Committee will be:

- Leo Ringer, co-founder and Partner, Form Ventures VC
- Susan Bowen, Chief Executive Officer, Digital Catapult.
The first session will focus on the potential for AI growth in the UK, the witnesses’ experience in operating growing AI companies and accessing growth capital, and the opportunities and challenges around accessing international markets while remaining in the UK.
The second session will consider the UK’s AI funding ecosystem, the impact of government policy on increasing access for UK companies to compute, data and other core resources and the implementation of the Government university spinout review.
