The Investing and Saving Alliance (TISA) to give evidence to Lords Financial Services Regulation Committee
Tuesday 10 September 2024
At 10.15am on Wednesday 11 September 2024, the House of Lords Financial Services Regulation Committee will hear evidence from:
- Carol Knight, Chief Executive Officer for Membership Services, The Investing and Saving Alliance (TISA)
- Lisa Laybourn, Director of Technical Policy and Risk, TISA.
This session, which is open to the public, will be held in Committee Room 4 of the House of Lords and streamed live and on demand on Parliament TV.
Questions the committee is likely to ask in this session include:
- Has there been a noticeable change in the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) or Prudential Regulation Authority’s (PRA) approach to regulation since the introduction of their new secondary objective?
- Have the FCA and PRA got their priorities right?
- Where else might the FCA make changes to increase participation and improve outcomes for savers?
- Are there recent examples where the FCA has implemented measures that help to enable retail investors and savers to benefit from growth opportunities?
- Does the FCA listen enough to the concerns of industry, retail investors and savers?
- What progress do you think both regulators have made on their commitment to better supporting innovation in the financial services sector?
- With its current set of powers, what more could the FCA do to improve financial education and inclusion?
This is the fourth evidence session of the committee’s inquiry into the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Prudential Regulation Authority’s (PRA) secondary growth and competitiveness objective. This objective was introduced following the passage of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2023.
