Lords Committees hear from Ed Miliband MP, Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero

The House of Lords Environment and Climate Change Committee and its Science and Technology Committee will hear from Ed Miliband MP, Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, in a joint session, on Tuesday 21 January. The Secretary of State will be joined by Chris Stark, Head of UK’s Mission for Clean Power.
The one-off session will be Chaired by Baroness Sheehan, Chair of the Environment and Climate Change Committee and will begin at 3.30pm.
It can be followed live or afterwards on Parliament TV or in person in the Palace of Westminster (committee room 4a).
Questions by members from both committees will cover a range of topics, which are likely to include:
- priorities of the department over the next 12 months;
- the UK’s Nationally Determined Contributions and Net Zero Target;
- energy security and long-duration energy storage;
- Clean Power in 2030 and beyond;
- methane;
- supporting the development of new energy technologies;
- supplying energy for data centres and Artificial Intelligence;
- key decisions for the energy system;
- community energy;
- biomass.
