Brexit: trade in non-financial services follow-up session on creative services
The House of Lords EU Internal Market Sub-Committee will hear from representatives of the creative services sector in a follow-up evidence session to its report 'Brexit: trade in non-financial services' on Thursday 22 February.
The report, published in March 2017, considered the potential impact of Brexit on trade in five services sectors: professional business services, digital services, creative services, air services and tourism, education and health-related travel services.
Giving evidence at 11.10am will be:
- John McVay, Chief Executive, Pact
- Adam Minns, Executive Director, COBA
- Caroline Rush, Chief Executive, British Fashion Council
- Tom Kiehl, Director of Government Relations, UK Music
Questions are likely to include:
- Can you tell us about how your organisations are engaging with the Government to help inform their negotiating position in relation to the creative sector?
- Are you satisfied that your concerns are being heard and taken into account by the Government?
- What are the implications of a transition or ‘implementation' period for creative industries?
- What impact, if any, do you think the EU referendum result has had on business activity in creative industries to date?
- What are your key priorities for the future UK-EU relationship, and how confident are you that these can be achieved?
- How are you working to boost the competitiveness of UK creative services with non-European markets?
The session will start at 11:10am on Thursday 22 February in Committee Room 4A of the House of Lords.
