David Davis to face Lords questions on Brexit

The House of Lords EU Committee will next week take evidence from Rt Hon David Davis MP, Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union.

The Committee's session with Mr Davis will start at 14:35 on Monday 29 January in Committee Room 1 of the House of Lords.

Areas the session will cover include:

  • Whether the phase 1 Brexit agreement is binding or contingent on a wider agreement?
  • The implications of the December agreement for Ireland and Northern Ireland
  • The Government's objectives for the transition period, and whether they have agreed with the EU that EU Law will continue to apply during the period?
  • When will the negotiations on the UK's future relationship with the EU start and has the Government agreed with the European Commission how they will be structured?
  • How Mr Davis will keep Parliament and the relevant Committees informed about progress in phase 2 of the negotiations once they begin.
