Lords to question NHS England on Life Sciences and Industrial Strategy
The House of Lords Science and Technology Committee will take evidence for its inquiry on Life Sciences and the Industrial Strategy on Tuesday 13 March.
The evidence session will begin at 10.05am in Committee Room 4A of the House of Lords. The Committee will question:
- Professor Tony Young PhD, National Clinical Director, Innovation, NHS England
The Committee will explore with the witness what action is needed to ensure the NHS is ready to implement the Life Sciences Industrial Strategy and how it can better adopt innovative technology.
Questions the Committee are likely to ask include:
- Much of the evidence the Committee have received says that the NHS is often poor at adopting new innovations. Why is this and what can be done to improve the situation?
- What are the challenges in implementing the Accelerated Access Review and the benefits of doing so? What happens if it is not implemented?
- The Life Sciences Strategy sets out ambitions for the use of patient data. Is the NHS ready for this level of innovation in patient data?
