Lords to question Minister for the Constitution in annual evidence session
Chris Skidmore MP, Minister for the Constitution, appears before the House of Lords Constitution Committee on Wednesday 8 March for the Committee's annual evidence session with the Minister responsible for the constitution.
The Minister for the Constitution supports the Minister for the Cabinet Office in delivering Cabinet Office policy, with responsibilities including constitution policy, public bodies reform, FOI, democracy and government communications, among others.
The Committee will ask questions covering a range of the Minister's responsibilities. Constitutional reform and oversight is expected to be of interest, particularly following the abolishment of the Constitutional Reform Cabinet Committee and the Lords Constitution Committee's report on the ‘Great Repeal Bill' and delegated powers.
Other topics for questioning include trade union political funds and political party funding, inter-governmental relations, and the impact of Brexit on the devolution settlements.
The evidence session will take place at 10.30am, Wednesday 8 March 2017 in Committee Room 1 of the House of Lords.
