Brexit and aviation: Lords to take evidence on future UK-EU relationship on air services
Representatives from the aviation industry will appear before the House of Lords EU Internal Market Sub-Committee on Thursday 30 November 2017 for a follow-up session to its report Brexit: trade in non-financial services, published in March 2017.
Giving evidence will be:
- Dr Barry Humphreys CBE, BKH Aviation
- Tim Alderslade, Chief Executive, Airlines UK
- Karen Dee, Chief Executive, Airport Operators Association
The session will start at 10:10am on Thursday 30 November in Committee Room 4A of the House of Lords. Questions are likely to include:
- Can you tell us about your engagement with the Government to help inform their negotiating position on the future UK-EU relationship with regard to air services?
- Do you agree with the Commons Transport Committee that the UK is likely to reach an aviation agreement with the EU before Brexit?
- How far in advance will airports need to be aware of the customs and immigration arrangements that will apply between the UK and EU post-Brexit?
- What would be the basis of a “basic deal” on aviation in a “no deal” scenario?
