Foreign and Commonwealth Office Minister to give evidence to Balkans inquiry


Sir Alan Duncan, Minister of State for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, will appear before the House of Lords International Relations Committee on Wednesday 15 November as part of its inquiry 'Beyond Brexit: the UK and the Balkans'.

Appearing at 11.30am Sir Alan Duncan will be asked questions including:

  • What will be the Government's priorities for the Western Balkans Summit next year?
  • What steps is the Government taking to address problems in the region such as state capture and severe restrictions on the freedom of the media?
  • How does the Government view the actions of Russia, China and Turkey in the region?
  • How is the Government working with the countries of the region and international partners to combat corruption and organised crime?
  • What is the Government's assessment of Islamist radicalisation in the region?

The evidence session will take place at 11.30am in Committee Room 4.
