Lords Artificial Intelligence Committee publishes written evidence
The House of Lords Select Committee on Artificial Intelligence has published the written evidence it has accepted into its inquiry to date.
The Committee received 207 pieces of evidence from a cross section of society, including academics, individuals, artificial intelligence (AI) companies, small and big businesses.
The Committee was appointed to consider the economic, ethical and social implications of advances in AI. Its call for evidence asked for answers to questions on topics such as: the pace of technological change, the impact on society, the public perception of AI, the ethical issues which could arise from the development and use of AI, and what the role of the Government should be.
Companies, organisations and governments to have their submissions accepted as evidence include Microsoft, IBM, Fujitsu, TechUK, the Alan Turing Institute, the Future of Humanity Institute, the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence, the Royal Society, the RSA, the Information Commissioner's Office, and the governments of Canada and Japan.
