Lords to ask Michael Gove: what are your top priorities for Brexit negotiations?


The House of Lords EU Energy and Environment Sub-Committee will question Rt Hon Michael Gove MP, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in a one off evidence session on Wednesday 1 November.

Over the past year the Committee have published a series of reports that have highlighted the potential impact of Brexit on the environment and climate change, on fisheries, on agriculture and on animal welfare.


This session is an opportunity to question the Secretary of State on the progress of Brexit negotiations in relation to these areas.


The session will begin at 11:30am in committee room 3 of the House of Lords. Topics the Committee are likely to cover include:

  • The Secretary of State's priorities for a Brexit deal
  • The impact of Brexit on food prices
  • The sector's dependence on EU workers
  • The impact of future trade agreements on UK farmers
