What is the role of the international workforce in the UK advertising industry? Lords to hear evidence
The House of Lords Communications Committee will continue to take evidence for its inquiry into the UK's advertising industry on Tuesday 31 October. The Committee will hear from one of the UK's leading advertising agencies, McCann, and immigration law firm, Hudson McKenzie.
This session will explore the importance of international talent to the British advertising industry as well as the immigration procedures necessary to bring in talent from the EU and beyond. The Committee will also examine how the advertising industry recruits and retains talented individuals, and what policies could support the industry in doing this.
At 4.30pm the Committee will hear from:
- Alex Lubar, CEO of McCann London
- Robert Stone, Group Head of Talent at McCann Worldwide
- Rahul Batra, Managing Partner of Hudson McKenzie
Questions the Committee are likely to ask:
- What are the benefits of an internationally diverse workforce for the UK's advertising industry?
- Is overseas talent needed to fill a UK skills gap?
- What approach should the Government take to develop new relationships with the EU and other trading partners to support the advertising industry?
- How is advertising training adapting to the changes caused by the rise of digital advertising and social media?
The evidence session will begin at 4.30pm on Tuesday 31 October in Committee Room 2 of the House of Lords.
