Committee visits

Travel can be an essential element of good investigative select committee work. Talking to people firsthand is an important way for Lords committees to hear a wide range of opinions and information.

Careful attention is paid to securing value for money in committee work. Committees often make use of videoconferencing to hear from witnesses who are some distance from Westminster; or, where it is sensible, invite witnesses to come to London to give evidence.
