MPs voted 317 to 256 to approve the motion "That this House has considered Parliament’s rights in relation to the approval of military action by British Forces overseas" (Division 137).  The Leader of the Opposition invited Members to vote against the motion, to express dissatisfaction with the Government’s response and assert the rights of Parliament.

Application for debate

The House of Commons agreed to an application for an emergency debate, made by the Leader of the Opposition, Jeremy Corbyn, on Monday 16 April 2018.
