Urgent Question on Yemen: 24 April 2018
24 April 2018 (updated on 24 April 2018)
Stephen Twigg, Chair of the International Development Committee, asked an Urgent Question in the House of Commons on the situation in Yemen.
The question was responded to by the Minister of State, Department for International Development, Harriett Baldwin, who said to the House that the UK is deeply concerned about the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, and that it is the largest humanitarian crisis in the world. More than 22 million people—over three quarters of the population—are in need of humanitarian assistance.
In return, Stephen Twigg implored the Government to bring a resolution to the UN Security Council as a matter of urgency.
