Theresa May updates MPs on the 2018 G20 Summit

Prime Minister, Theresa May, made a statement in the House of Commons updating MPs on the 2018 G20 Summit.
Over 30 November and 1 December, world leaders met at the G20 Buenos Aires summit. This gave UK Prime Minister Theresa May the opportunity to defend the withdrawal agreement she has negotiated with the European Union, ahead of the 'meaningful vote' scheduled to take place on Tuesday 11 December.
Theresa May spoke strongly in favour of international cooperation in her statement and stressed the prominent role the UK would continue to play in tackling international challenges. She also, once again, defended her negotiated deal with the European Union, saying that "for the first time in 40 years, we will have an independent trade policy."
The statement was responded to by the Leader of the Opposition, Jeremy Corbyn, who pressed the Government over their failure to criticise the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. He claimed Leaders should "back up their words with action" rather than just "offer warm words."
