Karen Bradley, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, made a statement to the Commons on 20 February 2018, updating MPs on the situation in Northern Ireland.

She told the House that "Everyone must continue to strive to see devolved government restored and to build a Northern Ireland fit for the future, and that remains the clear focus and determination of this Government".

Shadow Northern Ireland Secretary Owen Smith pushed Bradley to "publish precisely where there was agreement and where the gaps remain" in the talks to restore devolved government.
