Home Secretary, Sajid Javid, updated the House of Commons on recent developments in Salisbury and Amesbury.

The Home Secretary, Sajid Javid, updated the House on the two individuals who were being treated for exposure to a nerve agent. He informed the House that one of the patients had passed away at Salisbury District Hospital and expressed sincere condolences to her family and friends on behalf of the House. He confirmed a murder investigation is now ongoing and investigators are working urgently and around the clock. The work will take time and the investigation must be allowed to proceed on the evidence and the facts alone. The Home Secretary stated he would keep the House and the public updated on any significant developments.

Shadow Home Secretary, Diane Abbott, responded on behalf of the Opposition and thanked the Home Secretary for his statement and agreed that there should be a thorough investigation into the incident.
