Statement on energy policy: 25 June 2018

Greg Clark, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, made a statement in the House of Commons on the proposed Swansea Bay tidal lagoon.
The Secretary of State went on to state that the proposal for the Swansea tidal lagoon would cost £1.3 billion to build and if successful, it would provide around 0.15% of the electricity we use each year.
The Shadow Minister for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Bill Esterson, responded on behalf of the Opposition and commented on the handling of the project by the Government due to the length of time taken the and leaks to the media on the project.
