Remembering the attack on Westminster, March 2017

22 March 2017 saw the terror attack on Westminster Bridge and the Houses of Parliament. One year on, Parliament is remembering all those who lost their lives, including PC Keith Palmer who was killed protecting the Houses of Parliament.
The House of Commons and the House of Lords will be observing a minute’s silence at the start of business in each House. Parliament will come together in a short event of reflection and commemoration led by the Reverend Rose Hudson-Wilkin, Speaker’s Chaplain, at 12 noon in Westminster Hall. The Speaker and Lord Speaker will be participating, alongside MPs, peers and staff and others who work on the parliamentary estate.
Later today, the phrase #LondonUnited will be projected onto the Houses of Parliament, the first of four commemorations of terrorist attacks on London in 2017. The projection, co-ordinated by the Mayor of London’s Office, will be repeated at London Bridge, Finsbury Park Mosque and Parsons Green tube station to mark the anniversaries of attacks at those locations later in the year.
