Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond, presented his Spring Statement in the House of Commons on Tuesday 13 March 2018.
Spring Statement 2018
The Spring Statement provides the Chancellor, Philip Hammond, an opportunity to update MPs on the Government’s plans for the economy based on the latest forecasts from the independent Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR).
The OBR's revised forecasts for the economy and the public finances will be published alongside the Spring Statement on Tuesday 13 March 2018.

Why is there a Spring Statement?
Recent tradition has seen the Chancellor of the Exchequer present the Budget in the spring. However, the current Chancellor - Philip Hammond - has moved the Budget to the autumn, and has introduced a spring statement. Spring Statement 2018 will be the first such spring statement.
