This week in the House of Commons, MPs debated the Data Protection Bill, Grenfell Tower and more.

Legislation: Government Bills

Haulage Permits and Trailer Registration Bill

The Second Reading of the Haulage Permits and Trailer Registration Bill took place in the Commons on Monday 14 May. The Bill passed its Second Reading without a division and has been sent to Public Bill Committee for detailed examination and evidence gathering.

Data Protection Bill

MPs considered a Lords amendment to the Data Protection Bill on Tuesday 15 May 2018. The House of Commons disagreed with the Lords amendment and proposed new amendments. The Bill returned to the Lords for further consideration.

Rating (Property in Common Occupation) and Council Tax (Empty Dwellings) Bill

The Rating (Property in Common Occupation) and Council Tax (Empty Dwellings) Bill had its remaining Commons stages on Tuesday 15 May 2018. The Bill passed Third Reading and will now be considered by the Lords.
