Shadow Education Secretary Angela Rayner asked an Urgent Question on the "Schools that work for everyone" consultation, in the House of Commons on 14 May 2018.
The "Schools that work for everyone" consultation was launched in September 2016 and the Government published their response on Friday 11 May 2018.
Rayner pushed Damian Hinds, the Secretary of State for Education, on whether he thought that it was "right to spend £50 million of taxpayers’ money expanding selective schools?"
In response, the Education Secretary said that, "overall, this package is about making sure we continue to provide good quality school places".
