Following her meeting in Brussels with European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker, Theresa May gave a statement to the House of Commons on the withdrawal agreement with the European Union.

A 26-page political declaration was leaked earlier today. The document sets out the draft framework for the future EU-UK relationship and is set to be considered by EU leaders on Sunday.

The Prime Minister told the press shortly before her statement that she was,

"confident that on Sunday we will be able to agree a deal for the whole of the United Kingdom family including Gibraltar".

Sunday 25 November marks the special EU Summit at which leaders of the EU-27 will vote on the deal reached during the course of negotiations.

May told the House,

"The negotiations are now at a critical moment and all our efforts must be focussed on working with our European partners to bring this process to a final conclusion in the interests of all our people."

Jeremy Corbyn, the Leader of the Opposition, said that the political declaration "represents the worst of all worlds" and described it as "testament to the Tories' bungled negotiations".
