Lords debates global numbers of displaced children

Members of the Lords, including a vice president of Unicef UK and a former director of Oxfam UK, debated the numbers of children displaced from their homes internationally, and the actions undertaken by the Government, the European Union and the United Nations to support them, in the House of Lords on Thursday 22 November.
This was a balloted debate. They normally take place on a Thursday in the chamber. During debates, members are able to put their experience to good use, discussing current issues and drawing the government's attention to concerns.
The debate was proposed by Lord McConnell of Glenscorrodale (Labour), ambassador of Action for Children UK and vice president of Unicef UK.

Baroness Stedman-Scott (Conservative), government whip and fellow of the Centre for Social Justice, responded on behalf of the government.
