Lords debates UK economy

Members of the Lords, including a former economic advisor in HM Treasury and a vice president of the Trading Standards Institute, debated the UK economy in light of the Budget Statement, in the House of Lords on Tuesday 13 November.
This was a general debate. During debates, members are able to put their experience to good use, discussing current issues and drawing the government's attention to concerns.
The debate was proposed by Lord Bates (Conservative), minister of state in the Department for International Development and former Paymaster General in HM Treasury, who also responded on behalf of the government.
